Courtside Chats is another new feature for EA platform members, hosted by Elite Academy U16’s Head Coach, Mike de Kraker (@Mike_de_Kraker). Future editions of Courtside Chats will be circulated to all members via email, with a link to join the zoom call and send questions into Mike. In this webinar, Kirby, Alessandro and John discuss different approaches to youth development, including games-based learning.
Kirby Schepp (@Kirby_Schepp) is the University Of Manitoba Men’s Basketball Head Coach and Team Canada U17 Head Coach. Kirby is well-known amongst youth coaches for his excellent Manitoba Super Clinic presentations, with Pt 1 back in 2013 and Pt 2 delivered in 2019, both showcasing the games-approach. Alessandro Nocera (@AlessNoccera) is the U14 Italian National Team Head Coach, and full-time special consultant to Monaco Basket in the south of France. Alessandro recently moved to Monaco after 6 years with Basket Trieste, creating one of the top youth programs in Italy during his time there. Alessandro has some excellent content in our “Guest Coaches” section of the site. Before Trieste, Alessandro coached at Stella Azzura in Rome, as well as working for Nike (Giannis Camp) and Jordan Brand Classic events.
John Carrier (@JohnCarrier42) is a name well-known in “Basketball Twitter” circles for some of his games-based approach philosophies and shares. John coaches at the high-school level within the US, and is based in Minnesota. In addition to some great basketball posts on Twitter, his grilling posts are quite legendary!
