Is the floater the 2-pointer of the future?
In my opinion YES!
Both teardrops and soft runners are increasing in both efficiency as importance.
Some stats to think about:
Game 1 Knicks vs. Hawks: 19 floaters where shot, 7 of them in the final quarter.
The shot is nothing new, but there is way more creativity now that results in different variations.
Another stat to think about: the usage of floaters has gone up 22% over the last 5 seasons! Players like Trae Young are averaging 4 floaters a game.
For me it’s obvious welcome to the floaters & 3pointers era!
