What is the purpose of having “great handles”?
For us it would be:
- getting from point A to B
- creating separation from the defender
- create an advantage
- staying in control under pressure
That’s why when we work on “ball handling” with our older players, you won’t see stationary ball handling drills for 10-20 minutes.
We like to focus on game-like situational drills that force the player to make the decisions while dribbling the ball.
If you work on game skills you will get in game results.
